  • To develop examination performance of all groups of students that is at least in line with those groups nationally, and to work towards the level of national average for all students/ national ‘other’ as appropriate.
  • To reduce the number of students receiving fixed term exclusions by occasion.
  • To minimise the levels of bullying based upon prejudice and ensure that education is a key component of rehabilitation of perpetrators.
  • To ensure that the FitzWimarc School remains an equal opportunity employer.

Our Single Equality Policy contains details of how the school is working towards:

  • eliminating discrimination (in line with the Equalities Act 2010)
  • improving equality of opportunity for people with protected characteristics

The school conducts an annual survey of each of students, parents and staff. This contains views on equality of opportunity for staff, management of behaviour and bullying, examination performance, teaching quality amongst other areas. The school also has a high profile student services department where individual concerns can be raised and responded to. Assemblies cover themes of equality and governors review progress towards the single equality objectives on a regular basis.
